How to Change a HP Printer from Offline to Online

HP Pagewide printer offline

Occasionally when printing, the device or computer believes the printer is offline, the printer is actually on and is all set to begin printing. This could be a mistake between the printer and your device or computer. Sometimes it may be as simple as not properly attaching your cable or an easy paper jam mistake But a printer that appears as an "offline" mistake can also be a problem.

Printer cable checks
  • Check that the connection of both ends of the USB cable are firm
  • If the printer has an internet connection then ensure a firm insertion of the Ethernet cable
  • Check your internet connection if the printer is wireless or make sure if the router connection is proper
  • Try to use the end of the printer cable in various ports or sockets on your computer if you are attaching the printer by cable
Manually bring it online
  • Go to the Start icon at the bottom left of your screen and select Control Panel, then Devices and Printers
  • Right press the relevant printer and pick "See what's being printed"
  • Select "Printer" from the top menu bar from the window that opens
  • From the drop-down menu, select "Use Printer Online"
Remove jobs
  • From the earlier stated right-click menu "See what is printing" and "Cancel" any print jobs present
  • Select "Use Printer Online" again with the print jobs removed
  • Try to restore both your PC and printer if any suborn print jobs stay
Reinstall Printer
  • Right press the devices and printers printer and pick "Remove device"
  • Now add the printer again by choosing the Devices and Printers ->Add a Printer option
Try removing the driver and packages
  • Make sure that you use Windows as an administrator or as a sign-in
  • In the search bar, type CMD
  • Open type "printui / s / t2" with command prompt including the spaces for opening the Print Server Properties window
  • Now remove the printer's Driver and Package
  • By choosing to Add a Printer from Devices and Printers, you can now add your printer again
  • Your printer should now appear as online
